My 28 foot Airstream Safari (Diva) has a back bedroom with two closets to hang clothes. We found that frequently after a drive, especially if we had bumpy roads or had to make quick stops, the clothes would fall off the bar and we would have to rehang them. This simple change stopped that.

Here is the closet with the door shut. |

Here is the open closet. Notice that the hangers are on backwards..
This keeps the clothes on the hanger after a quick stop.
The momentum of the clothing is forward and the hangers do not leave the bar. |
Ciao! Frank
Why didn't I think of that. I have had the same problem but would strap a bungee around the hangers & rod. That was a pain and failed half the time. The husband crams a coat in the top ... that works for him. I cant do that to any of my coats. We will try this on the next trip out ... Alumapalooza4!!!!
ReplyDeleteI feel like a fool. My clothes have been falling off for the past four years. I have the exact same setup in my 28' Airstream except mine is an International. I will make the adjustment. This was a helpful post for me.
ReplyDeleteAlice, we'll see you at Alumapalooza.
ReplyDeleteDoug, will you be there?
Thanks for the comments.
I will not be at Alumapalooza. We went the first and second year and would return but it happens to coincide with our 15th anniversary this year. We will be in the Florida Panhandle with our Airstream. I feel a bit bad as we live so close and a number of people we would love to meet will be there. I am on a first name basis with the service department as I take my Airstream there before work some mornings for service. Sorry that we will miss you at Alumapalooza this year.
